Black History Month - 'Revelation' about GOP

'Revelation' about GOP
"Nina May speaks with the zeal of a modern-day emancipationist, crusading to rescue the Republican Party's history on civil rights.
"The Republican Party was founded specifically to abolish slavery," says Mrs. May, a writer who lives in McLean. "The first nine planks for the Republican Party dealt with civil rights for blacks. Republicans fought for the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments ... [against] total opposition from the Democrats." Her quest to bring that history to life has resulted in a documentary, 'Emancipation, Revelation, Revolution'..."

DVDs of "Emancipation, Revelation, Revolution" are available online at http://www.errvideo.com
"Emancipation Revelation/Revolution has been released to the public during Black History Month to honor all the incredible achievements that Black Americans have accomplished yet have been left out of the revised version of Black History. . . and also it is exactly 200 years since the abolition of slavery in British Empire."

And, just for you, VP:

"What is conservatism? Is it not adherence to the old and tried, against the new and untried?" Lincoln's Cooper Institute Address, February 27, 1860.

Thank you, Mr. BlogDecatur, for your quotes from Mr. Lincoln (R-IL).
I believe that the "meaning" of conservatism has drifted and changed over the 150 years since then, as has the concept of liberalism. The definitions of the two terms are open to discussion between open-minded participants. Are you craving to have a discussion of terminology?

Matthew, you surely understand that the point of the article had less to do with Lincoln than with black conservatives in history, and pointing out that the GOP has worked, and continues to work harder to improve life for Black Americans than the Democrat Party ever has?
You chose to ignore/dismiss the story because you don't like the religion of some of the people who own the newspaper? Do you have more trust in Al-Jezerra News? How about Israeli newspapers? Should we possibly discuss the meaning of religious bigotry?

"Moonie-cult"?

Funny, I do not recall many newspapers run by followers of Sun Myung Moon. Perhaps Mr. Jackson thinks the Washington Times is run inside an airport lobby? I don't recall them selling "flowers to support a youth group."

Nice quotes from Lincoln. It had absolutely nothing to do with the subject at hand, but, nice quotes nevertheless.

Google "Lincoln quotes" and you will find many more that have nothing to do with the history of the Republican Party and Black History, and probably some that do.

"the point of THE article."

I claimed no credit for the article, and was merely pointing it out and linking readers who wanted to learn more about it to the source.

I have read that quote from McCain in the past, and feel that the source you have chosen to utilize for it has taken the quote out of the original context. Even so, I am not here to defend everything that every author on the internet has ever said. The article mentioned in the original story posted had merit.
You chose the character assassination mode of attack rather than admit the facts of the story. You and the Democrat Party deserve candidates like Billary.
As for the polital party name?
There is nothing "democratic" in the Democrat Party.
