Democrats: Dishonest on Iraq, Distorting History

Democrats: Dishonest on Iraq

Democrats and Liberals are irresponsibly trying to rewrite the history of how the Iraq war began. Don't fall for it. Be glad we have a leader that supports our troops and their mission, not one that would conveniently suggest cutting and running. Libs are selling out to better their poll ratings or to pacify the left wing bloggers. Hatred of GWB is the glue that holds the Democrat Party together.

Or maybe they have a zombie problem.

What garbage. Sorry to see you have been so brainwashed. Do you get your memos from GWB himself? How have the Dem's rewritten what started the Iraq war? "Solid Logic", not even close.

They have been TRYING to rewrite the long lead in to the war. When it became apparent they could politicize the war by turning against it and everything the President touched, their stories changed. When you hear WJ Clinton talking about Saddam and the threat he posed, when you hear WJC talking about Saddam having WMD, you have to wonder why everyone says that President Bush lied about WMD. THIS is one example of the attempted rewrite of history. I still believe that what WMD was there, was moved to Syria and Iran during the UN delay in enforcing sanctions.

Dems and other appeasing liberals said, "Give the inspectors more time!"

Time for what? The shell game that followed? My biggest political disagreement with our entry into the Iraq theatre was only that it took us far too long to get started.
GWB tried too hard to placate the hard left and European interests who wanted to delay and appease. (Many of whom were profiting VERY nicely from the UN food for oil program)

Time, check the "Confused Democrat" video linked in this post. If you can't see which side is doing the twisting and spinning...

Come on. If you think the Republicans are not also guilty of twisting and spinning this whole mess, then we don't have much to talk about.

Yes, I disagreed with the President, I don't think we should have invaded Iraq.

But worse, since we did invade Iraq, I have great disagreements with how Bush has prosecuted this war. At the top of my very long list, we should have entered Iraq with at least 400,000 troops.

He insights and motivates our enemy by using terms like "dead or alive" or "crusades."

He alienates our allies by terms like "your either with us or against us." He sounds like a dictator not someone trying to create a consensus or a team effort.

Even the US military, after looking for 2 years, said officially that there were no WMD's.

I don't even consider that a big argument!

If the intelligent agencies all over the world were in agreement that there were - then a responsible leader has to heed that information.

I can't fault a Democratic representative for voting for a war given that kind of information.

It turns out that information was wrong. But the administration when they found out that information was wrong; continued to use that false information to proscecute the war, that's morally wrong.

The President then USED the good reputation of Sec. Powell to sell that false premis to the U.N. and the world, and Powell has said so, last April 2006.

There's no doubt Europeans delayed because of their financial interest in Iraq.

There's also no doubt (as administration officials are now admitting) that they did NOT anticipate the insurgent strength as it has evolved. That's another mistake, that was easily one forseeable outcome.

The people have (polls since this Spring) lost trust in the administration because of the deceptive stories coming from our leaders.

Your still debating as if these original facts are true, which have been proven that they are not.

So your words do sound like you have been repeating the Carl Rove talking points, and the country has long ago discredited all that garbage.

Now long after all this has been shown to be false, the Republicans go back to the same arguments to run against the Democrats in this 2006 election, and you wonder why the country won't believe them?

I got the clip from "The Ghost Breakers" in an email a few months back...before I had discovered YouTube.

I laughed until I almost peed by pants.

Bob Hope was one of the best.
