Hill defends Bill for defending Hill
Hillary Clinton defends Bill for defending her
I had thought about titling this post, "Two for One Sale."
In the Reuters story linked above, Mrs. Bill Clinton makes it clear that Bill will be co-president.
"...Was she comfortable with Bill's role in the campaign? she was asked.
"Absolutely," Clinton said. "I am so happy to have his help in this campaign. He obviously counsels and advises me every single day."
"I'm thrilled to have his support and look forward to being able to call at him in every capacity I can imagine," she said. ..."

Sandy Burglar promotion in Hillary White House?
Criminal Behavior
By The Editors (NRO)
There are two kinds of crooks. The first cuts a deal. He tells the government what he knows and forever after is ostracized and hunted by his old partners in crime. The second is “stand-up.” He keeps his mouth shut. After serving his time, he is welcomed back into the fold. He might even get a “bump up” in rank from his grateful bosses.
No, we’re not talking about The Sopranos. What we have in mind is a new episode of a tawdry soap opera that began in the 1990s. Welcome to the case of disgraced former national security adviser Sandy Berger — and what it portends about a potential President Hillary.

Media Bias
Recent polls have been taken that proclaim that the Vice-President has only a 28 percent approval rating. Yet there are no headlines to be found about the fact that the Democrat controlled Congress enjoys even less approval by the citizens of this country. 83 percent said Congress was doing a fair or poor job, and just 14 percent rated it excellent or good. At Reuters, for instance, it is spoken about, but only deep within the story of how bad the VP's numbers are. This is but one more example of what Rush calls "Drive-by Media" bias.

Nancy Pelosi supports the troops
Nancy Pelosi supports the troops–the Canadian troops, that is
She's such a strong supporter of our troops that she can't tell a Canadian from an American? When will the Dems realize that she and Harry Reid are incompetents? Under their "leadership" they have caused Congress to slip further in polls than even the President they constantly complain about.

Amnesty plot by Kennedy and McCain?
This throws most of the conservative vote further away from McCain. He is being more clearly seen by conservatives as a half-hearted supporter of conservatism. His main goal sometimes seems to be poking the conservatives in the eye with his rollover cooperation with Dems like Kennedy and Feingold.
Blogometer at National Journal agrees.
5/18: The End Of McCain Online
Let's hope and assume that this newest version of amnesty nonsense goes nowhere fast, and let's start enforcing the current laws on immigration, including the completion of the border fence and securing our borders first.
The Duncan Hunter website has lots of info about the fence.

NumbersUSA: "These Senators have sold out the American public" on Immigration Agreement
Block amnesty plan; it's a slap in the face
By TOM TANCREDO
How could anyone who describes themselves as Americans, whether conservative or just short of the most moonbat liberal, ever voice support for this? I don't know, but I'm willing to listen to the mysterious logic of this potential sellout of the American Citizen.

Leftist Thought Control
"The political left, which holds itself as progressive, rational and fact-based, is becoming an enemy of academic inquiry, and a practitioner of thought control on a wide variety of issues. Increasingly, from the left's perspective, there is just one acceptable viewpoint..."

Obama's take on "hunting"
B. Hussein Obama, (D-IL) had this to say about the Virginia Tech murders:
“(Cho) had a semiautomatic weapon with a clip that allowed him to take 19 shots in a row,” Obama said. “I don’t know any self-respecting hunter that needs 19 rounds of anything. The only reason you have 19 rounds is potentially to do physical harm to people. You don’t shoot 19 rounds at a deer. And if you do, you shouldn’t be hunting.”
The distinguished blogger from Tennessee, "Say Uncle," takes umbrage at the rookie Illinois Senator's ignorance.
Gun rights aren’t about hunting and need. They never have been.
I might add that Mr. Obama's comparison of hunting students and hunting deer is politically crass and quite telling of the potential tone and future under an Democrat Obama presidency.

Mustapha says Pelosi and Assad "discussions very serious"
Syria's ambassador to Washington, Imad Mustapha, told United Press International.
"We can work together on many issues," said the ambassador, adding that it was time to "engage to address the issues."The ambassador, who was in Damascus during Pelosi's visit, said, "The discussions (between Pelosi and Assad) were very serious."
Speaker of the House/State? Pelosi can bring herself to have "very serious discussions" with heads of rogue states, but she refuses to sit down and speak to OUR President in the White House. The Dem candidates also fear the (evil) Fox News. The political games she and the other Democrats are engaged in are disgusting, disruptive, and does serious damage to our country.
The article above is one of the first of many "We are not the enemy" stories coming from Syria, now further mainstreamed by the official Pelosi visit. The Drive-by media will eat it up and regurgitate it back to us with sappy human interest stories because it fits the story line. The story line is "despise anything that can be associated with GWB and shape all stories to that message."
Typical Main Stream Media B.S.
Syria is a state sponsor of terror. Negotiating with terrorists or their state sponsors is idiotic at best, and borders on treasonous "bad behavior."

iPod Liberal Lunacy
An iPod for every kid?
The Detroit News
"...We have come to the conclusion that the crisis Michigan faces is not a shortage of revenue, but an excess of idiocy. Facing a budget deficit that has passed the $1 billion mark, House Democrats Thursday offered a spending plan that would buy a MP3 player or iPod for every school child in Michigan."
It seems that Gov. Blagojevich and the Illinois Dems have spread the disease of "fair tax and spend lunacy" to our neighbor to the north.

The Dem Pork machine abandons our troops
President Bush warns Dems to stop making political statements with the emergency military spending bill and to support the troops.
"...too much pork, too many conditions, and an arbitrary timetable for withdrawal."
"If congress fails to support our troops on the front lines, the American people will know who to hold accountable."

Obama and Anti-Hillary Ad creator - More ties
Anti-Clinton Ad Maker Lived With Obama Senate Staffer
Senator Denied Campaign Connection but Mock Ad Maker Lived Wth Press Secretary
March 23, 2007— The press secretary for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., recently lived with the creator of the scathingly satirical YouTube video ad that attacked Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., a revelation that seems to undermine the senator's claim that he and his campaign had only "very attenuated" ties with the ad's creator.

Vote Different - Obama Ad
This makeover of the old Apple computer "1984" commercial shows that B. Hussein Obama has some creative people working on behalf of his cause, whether he claims to know about it or not. This pot shot at Hillary should get her venom boiling.
The "name" of the user who originally uploaded the video is also interesting. "ParkRidge47"
Hillary was raised in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge and born in 1947.

Blagojevich's new tax pyramiding scheme
Guv's big new biz tax blitz
Crain's Chicago Business
Big biz, small biz: Blago may have tax for you (Quad Cities Online - subscription required)
Kim Maisch, Illinois director of the National Federation of Independent Businesses said, "The concept of a gross-receipts tax is really anti-free enterprise."
I think that our governor should look to see how this is working out in New Mexico before causing a pyramiding taxation disaster for Illinois busisnesses just to further fund his outlandish spending habits. A Gross Receipts Tax is regressive and unfair to citizens and businesses located in our state and to consumers everywhere.
New Mexico's Gross Receipts Tax:
What Not to Do in State Taxation
Warning to other states...
"In their new study, “New Mexico’s Harmful Gross Receipts Tax: A Warning to Other States,” Dr. Harry Messenheimer and Paul Gessing expose the ways in which services are often taxed multiple times for a single transaction. The authors also explain why gross receipts taxes like New Mexico’s are a boon to special interests, but killers for economic growth..." click here for more from FreeLiberal.com about this study...

Non-stop Nancy

So...
Nancy Pelosi demands a jumbo jet, although no rep in Congress has ever had one before. She doesn't feel that the plane that Speaker Dennis Hastert used is big enough for all of her assistants, lobbyists, family members, AND her oversized ego, nor can it fly non-stop from DC to the Left Coast.
Her "request" for a military transport jet with all the bells and whistles will cost over 5 times the rate that the former Speaker's plane would have cost. (more than $15,000,000 per year)
Is the projected $300,000.00 per trip in the best interests of the taxpayers? I don't think so.
Getting in touch with reality, here in fly over country, a few moments of her time would be well spent during refueling at an Illinois, Kentucky or Kansas Air Force base and could likely do her some good.
Put your feet back on the ground, Nancy.

Did Democrats ever want to win?
Eric Simonson, writing at Hegemonic Discourse, answers this question quite well.
Did Democrats ever want to win?
"Democrats do not care about winning in Iraq. They care about winning political points. Again and again instead of thinking and talking about winning in Iraq Democrats and the left continue to say instead that the war was a mistake, we've already lost, and we must bring the troops home now in defeat......At every turn Democrats and the left have pulled no punches in denigrating, insulting, and talking down not only the war, but our troops and the war."
