Mrs. Bill Clinton's composure under fire

Do you know the difference between Hillary Clinton and John McCain?
McCain's war stories are true.
You have to admire Mrs. Bill Clinton's composure in this video, while under heavy fire in Bosnia.

Hill defends Bill for defending Hill

Hillary Clinton defends Bill for defending her

I had thought about titling this post, "Two for One Sale."
In the Reuters story linked above, Mrs. Bill Clinton makes it clear that Bill will be co-president.

"...Was she comfortable with Bill's role in the campaign? she was asked.
"Absolutely," Clinton said. "I am so happy to have his help in this campaign. He obviously counsels and advises me every single day."

"I'm thrilled to have his support and look forward to being able to call at him in every capacity I can imagine," she said.

Sandy Burglar promotion in Hillary White House?

Criminal Behavior
By The Editors (NRO)
There are two kinds of crooks. The first cuts a deal. He tells the government what he knows and forever after is ostracized and hunted by his old partners in crime. The second is “stand-up.” He keeps his mouth shut. After serving his time, he is welcomed back into the fold. He might even get a “bump up” in rank from his grateful bosses.
No, we’re not talking about The Sopranos. What we have in mind is a new episode of a tawdry soap opera that began in the 1990s. Welcome to the case of disgraced former national security adviser Sandy Berger — and what it portends about a potential President Hillary.

Mrs. Bill Clinton's "Hillraisers"

“People have often said about the Clintons, they don’t care who they hang out with as long as the people can be helpful to them,” said one of Mrs. Clinton’s major fund-raisers. “The larger point in all of this is that the Clintons are the ultimate pragmatists in who they hang out with; if you can be useful to them, they will find a way to make it work.”
The Corruption of Clinton's Campaign By Richard H. Collins

Hsu-in:
Only NBC Asked Hillary About Her Crooked Donor Scandal
The only thing I'm surprised about here is that it was NBC. Maybe the lib networks are trying to cover for each other, and they all agreed to take turns asking semi-tough questions. Perhaps to keep from completely beating up the democrats like they do the Republican candidates? Another clear sign of "drive-by" media bias.

In still another donor situation, even Biden is giving his share of controversial money to charity...
Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash

And apparently, someone vaguely remembers the mysterious things that sometimes happened to people who somehow got in the way... and associates that to Hsu's mysterious sickness.
By GARY HARMON - The Daily Sentinel
Clinton ties ominous for jailed fundraiser Hsu, Web site says

The first quote from the "Hillraiser" Clinton donor at the top of this post really says it all for the morals of the Clinton campaign.

Nancy Pelosi supports the troops

Nancy Pelosi supports the troops–the Canadian troops, that is

She's such a strong supporter of our troops that she can't tell a Canadian from an American? When will the Dems realize that she and Harry Reid are incompetents? Under their "leadership" they have caused Congress to slip further in polls than even the President they constantly complain about.

ICE Sting nets 165 arrests

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials arrested 165 people Tuesday after raiding three locations looking for undocumented workers.
American Staffing Resources is a contract company that provides staffing service for fruit and vegetable processing plant, Fresh Del Monte.
ICE officials raided the ASR office on North Lombard, their satellite office inside Fresh Del Monte and Fresh Del Monte itself. It was at these locations where officials arrested three managers for knowingly hiring undocumented workers and supplying them with false documentation...

...Portland Mayor Tom Potter says he's unhappy with how the raids were carried out.
He released this statement: "I am angered by this morning's arrest by federal officers of approximately 150 Portland residents who were working at a local produce company. I certainly understand why federal officials executed criminal warrants against three individuals who stole and sold Social Security numbers. But to go after local workers who are here to support their families while filling the demands of local businesses for their labor is bad policy."

This is what the ICE is supposed to be doing. Portland's mayor can be as unhappy and angry as he wants to be, but Del Monte, which I believe is controlled and partially owned by the husband of Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA) is subject to federal law just like companies that aren't as well represented by politicians. I only hope that ICE is very busy working on the next major law enforcement operation.
This type of sting is exactly what is needed to address the underlying problem with illegal immigration. If illegal immigrants realize that they can't work here without risk of deportation, many won't even make the trip. You don't need to round up 20 million illegals to deport. Many that are here now will go back if they don't find work.
The argument that produce companies and other businesses that presently use illegal immigrant labor provide products at reasonably cheap prices is a phony one that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. The associated costs of illegal immigrant crime, law enforcement, medical services, social services and the like, far outweigh the savings you may see on a head of lettuce or maid service in a hotel.
If the main draw for illegals is a job, then denying that option is a very important piece of an effective immigration policy. Del Monte and the managers involved should be prosecuted to the full extent of the existing law, as should all employers of illegals. I'm perfectly willing to pay more for food and less on taxes that actually support the illegal occupation of our country by people who aren't interested in becoming Americans, but only interested in the criminally generated dollars they can send back to their home country.

Amnesty plot by Kennedy and McCain?

This throws most of the conservative vote further away from McCain. He is being more clearly seen by conservatives as a half-hearted supporter of conservatism. His main goal sometimes seems to be poking the conservatives in the eye with his rollover cooperation with Dems like Kennedy and Feingold.

Blogometer at National Journal agrees.
5/18: The End Of McCain Online

Let's hope and assume that this newest version of amnesty nonsense goes nowhere fast, and let's start enforcing the current laws on immigration, including the completion of the border fence and securing our borders first.
The Duncan Hunter website has lots of info about the fence.

Block amnesty plan; it's a slap in the face

How could anyone who describes themselves as Americans, whether conservative or just short of the most moonbat liberal, ever voice support for this? I don't know, but I'm willing to listen to the mysterious logic of this potential sellout of the American Citizen.

Leftist Thought Control

"The political left, which holds itself as progressive, rational and fact-based, is becoming an enemy of academic inquiry, and a practitioner of thought control on a wide variety of issues. Increasingly, from the left's perspective, there is just one acceptable viewpoint..."

iPod Liberal Lunacy

An iPod for every kid?
The Detroit News
"...We have come to the conclusion that the crisis Michigan faces is not a shortage of revenue, but an excess of idiocy. Facing a budget deficit that has passed the $1 billion mark, House Democrats Thursday offered a spending plan that would buy a MP3 player or iPod for every school child in Michigan."

It seems that Gov. Blagojevich and the Illinois Dems have spread the disease of "fair tax and spend lunacy" to our neighbor to the north.

Coulter courts controversy - Liberals cry

These quotes are from:
Fox News 'Hannity & Colmes" (3/5/07)
COLMES, whining: But you used a word that's very offensive to gays. Would you use a word offensive to another group of people and say, "Oh, it was only a joke"? Where do you draw the line?
COULTER: It isn't offensive to gays. It has nothing to do with gays. It's a schoolyard taunt, meaning wuss. And unless you're telling me that John Edwards is gay, it was not applied to a gay person.

Also that day, it was reported on CNN "Paula Zahn Now" (3/5/07)
"Ann also sent an email to the New York Times (saying) C'mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean."

Shooting Elephants in a Barrel
by Ann Coulter 03/07/2007
"... As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory
of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who
lied about his wife sending him to Niger.
This makes it official: It's illegal to be Republican..."

Blagojevich's new tax pyramiding scheme

Guv's big new biz tax blitz
Crain's Chicago Business

Big biz, small biz: Blago may have tax for you (Quad Cities Online - subscription required)
Kim Maisch, Illinois director of the National Federation of Independent Businesses said, "The concept of a gross-receipts tax is really anti-free enterprise."

I think that our governor should look to see how this is working out in New Mexico before causing a pyramiding taxation disaster for Illinois busisnesses just to further fund his outlandish spending habits. A Gross Receipts Tax is regressive and unfair to citizens and businesses located in our state and to consumers everywhere.

New Mexico's Gross Receipts Tax:
What Not to Do in State Taxation

Warning to other states...
"In their new study, “New Mexico’s Harmful Gross Receipts Tax: A Warning to Other States,” Dr. Harry Messenheimer and Paul Gessing expose the ways in which services are often taxed multiple times for a single transaction. The authors also explain why gross receipts taxes like New Mexico’s are a boon to special interests, but killers for economic growth..." click here for more from FreeLiberal.com about this study...

Non-stop Nancy

So...
Nancy Pelosi demands a jumbo jet, although no rep in Congress has ever had one before. She doesn't feel that the plane that Speaker Dennis Hastert used is big enough for all of her assistants, lobbyists, family members, AND her oversized ego, nor can it fly non-stop from DC to the Left Coast.
Her "request" for a military transport jet with all the bells and whistles will cost over 5 times the rate that the former Speaker's plane would have cost. (more than $15,000,000 per year)
Is the projected $300,000.00 per trip in the best interests of the taxpayers? I don't think so.

Getting in touch with reality, here in fly over country, a few moments of her time would be well spent during refueling at an Illinois, Kentucky or Kansas Air Force base and could likely do her some good.
Put your feet back on the ground, Nancy.

John Kerry: The Kamikaze Kid

Don Imus was probably speaking for most Democrats last week, when he told Kerry, “Stop talking. Go home, get on the bike, go windsurfing, anything. Stop it. You’re going to ruin this.”

This was the Dems choice for president in '04... Need I say more?

John Kerry: The Kamikaze Kid
by Michael Reagan
...When John Kerry stands up and implies that the members of our armed forces now engaged in a bloody and dangerous war on behalf of the American people are a bunch of poorly educated high school dropouts, he is expressing what his colleagues in the Democrat leadership believe. The only difference between Kerry and the rest of his party's bigwigs is that they aren't stupid enough to say so in public.
Those Democrats who haven't scurried for cover in a frenzied attempt to separate themselves from the outraged reaction of the American people to Kerry's disgusting charges are now attempting to convince us that Kerry didn't really mean what he said when he told a high school audience, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
They can't deny he said what he said. So they try and tell us he didn't mean what he said. What they are really saying is "Believe us and not your lying ears. You didn't really hear what you heard." ...read the whole article

Stuck In Iraq

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
John Kerry, Liberal spokesperson for the Democrat Party
