Stuck In Iraq

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
John Kerry, Liberal spokesperson for the Democrat Party

Video of this sharp and witty quote of how the Democrats view our military is posted at MCR's blog

With an election 5 days away and all the serious problems we have in this country; why does the right (from the President on down) choose this non-issue as the most important issue they should be discussing with the American people right now?

The war on terror is not a "non-issue." Preserving our security is of the utmost importance, at least for the biggest majority of Americans (except in Massachusetts, obviously.)

Our economy is booming.

Unemployment is at an all time low.

We are winning the war on terror.

North Korea has backed down and is going back to the table to discuss their nuclear program.

Face it, BUSH IS RIGHT, and you are wrong. Period!

Anon.,

I'm talking about this idiot chase after Kerry and his idiot statement and why the President on down have spent 4 days keeping it the top story.

I do not include the WHOLE war on terror issue just because idiot Kerry made an idiot remark.

Please explain to me how this Kerry incident reflects the WHOLE war on terror issue?

Since Kerry is a leader in the DNC, his opinions and comments are representative of the democrats and THEIR position on the War on Terror.

Since Kerry obviously thinks our troops are idiots and not worth his time, what does that say of the democrats' support of the war and of the people fighting it? It says that the democrats despise the military and would not support our servicemen and women. They would "re-deploy" them and leave the middle east wide open for Islamofascists to proliferate and be in striking distance of Israel, Europe, and, if given time, the U.S. Matt Jackson may live in a twisted world of isolationism and defeat, but most Americans want our way of life defended. our troops supported, and the war on terror won.

Kerry's comments have opened the eyes of Americans to the type of government we might inherit if this democratic party gets into power. THAT would be downright scary. That's how Kerry's remarks and the war on terror are related.

BTW, Matthew Jackson, to clarify your misguided statements:

NK only came back to the table because a US-lead initiative involving China, Russia, Japan, and South Korea forced them to. In other words, George Bush's plan to not have two-party talks but six-party talks (especially involving China)IS WORKING. Say it with me, "George Bush's plan is working." Good. I know that was tough, but it is the truth. You'll have to get used to it.

Unemployment is at an all-time low. I have one job. I'm doing much better than I did during the Clinton years. Thank you very much. The Bush tax cuts FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO PAY TAX has put more money in their pockets, and has also allowed businesses to employ more workers. People are working and taking care of themselves, instead of relying on government handouts. Teach a man to fish....

The WOT is being won, little by little. There have not been any more terrorist attacks within the US since 9/11 mostly because of initiatives that this administration has taken. Our NSA wiretaps of TERRORIST CALLS has led to the thwarting of many terrorist plots, including the plan by terrorists in Britain who were planning on blowing up 11 planes over American cities. Our troops are making headway in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are ups and downs to the process, but gradually, the movement is toward stable democracies in both countries.

To coin a phrase, why don't you go cry with your MoveOn.Org buddies and keep drinking their Kool-Aid. I'm sure George Soros and the rest of his socialist friends would love to have you.

Anon.,

Youv'e not only been drinking the Kool-aid, youv'e been dropping the acid.

That's like saying because Foley is a pedophile, then so is every member of the Republican party.

John Kerry is NOT the leader of the Democratic party, or even one of the leaders in the top 10 of the Democratic party.

Kerry does NOT represent the thinking of the other leaders of the Democrat party.

Sen. Clinton was one of the first to condem what Kerry said.

Kerry was not talking about his position on the war on terror, but the fact that he thinks the President is an idiot.

We know your one of the neo-cons but please deal with real facts, not this fantasy you want to invent to fit your dillusion.

To involve myself in the other debate:

The Republicans CUT the VET benefits in the middle of a war.

Why are private citizens having to pay for bullet-proof vests for members of the military?

Why are private citizens paying for a military burn center in Arizona?

The national debt will be 10 Trillion dollars by the time Bush leaves office.

We still run a yearly deficit of between 250-350 Billion dollars a year.

Home sales are down and the value of homes are less than what people paid for those homes one year ago.

I could go on, the point is to use some realistic facts instead of partisan party talking points. As the title of the blog says, "Solid Logic" ?

Typical liberal...when faced with the truth, change the subject to lay out more of THEIR talking points.

Ah well.

In five days we'll see what AMERICA thinks

I didn't change the issue you liar. Why bdon't you try addressing what was said instead of spewing your lame insults. Certainly, Republicans lose Nov. 7.

Wow...

You guys sure know how to argue.

and spell...

Although no one knows the outcome of the elections on November 7th, my opinion is the same as GWB and VP: Republicans will maintain their majorities. Anonymous, you did make some good points with regard to advancements under the Bush administration. Too bad the MSM refuses to publish them. I would differ with you, however, on the Kerry gaff. He stuck his foot way down his throat on this one, but I don't think it will be as much of a compelling force for voters as you think. I think they already have figured out how weak the Democrats are with national defense, and therefore Kerry's slap at our military is only icing on the cake.

Good day all.

AND PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!!!!

Actually, Time, you did make an attempt to turn the discussion by utilizing a fairly stale list of Lib talking points. You began your topic changing post with To involve myself in the other debate:
Which one would that be? The point of the anon post was that this "stupid" issue was more of the same from the former presidential candidate and liberal flag bearer of the Dem Party. To most Americans, he a leading representative of the Democrat party. Do you deny that?
Does the insult of being called "a typical liberal" immediately call for making that insulter out to be a "liar" for pointing out what seems to be the case?
I'm not saying that the issues you pointed out aren't worth discussing, but your hostility sounds as hollow as Kerry's hostility for being called on it.
Kerry was quick to condemn and ask for the resignation of Trent Lott for a bad joke at an ancient Democratic Senator's birthday party. Hypocritical, insincere, and "botching a joke" about our valiant military men and women... Maybe Kerry should resign in disgrace? Not a chance. Dems have made a living out of not taking responsibility, doing everything they can, including everything from wanting to raise taxes on everyone who has an income to abandoning the mideast and our allies there to the Muslim extremists who would then have a safe base of operations for their terrorists activities around the world, including here.
