Jackson's talking points

Thanks to Lincoln Republican for the following list of Matt Jackson's typical blog response lines.
TOP TEN MATT JACKSON BASHING REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES/ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH HIM LINES:
10. Go cry with your GOP buddies.
9. I don't cut and paste.
8. I always* cite my sources.
7. Why don't you go get a girlfriend.
6. You must have got the GOP talking points.
5. That was lame.
4. You are pathetic.
3. Go thump your Bible somewhere else (paraphrased from several quotes.)
2. Fear-mongerer.
And the number one republican/conservative/anyone-who-doesn't-agree-with -Matt-bashing line:
1. You're spitting bile.

Matt gave up on logical, solid discussions, and now tows the line for the Looney Left.
Of course, from this viewpoint of his, everything is the fault of GWB, GOP, and conservatives in general. It's easier to beef about GWB than to have original thoughts, so maybe Matt is just getting lazy. Can you imagine what deep stuff we'd be in now if Algore and the DNC had cheated just a little more in Florida? Would Gore have defended our country after 9/11? Or would he, as he and the Left are doing now, shrug off the attacks as simply a peaceful Muslim protest?

Mother Betsy's Smoking Ban

Does Mother Betsy, the Decatur councilwoman, really know best about what is good and righteous? Regardless of her intentions, she is attempting to impose her righteousness on the community and is abusing the power of her position. Do we elect council members to represent us or to think for us? The time has come for the council to REPRESENT us, not simply try to protect us from ourselves. I urge the other council members to keep this in mind while Betsy works to impose a smoking ban on Decatur. Please resist her (probably genuine) motherly concern for our well being, and help keep government out of the personal protection business.

“The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community against his will is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant.” This is the basic premise of libertarianism, the political philosophy of the Founding Fathers.
1859 - John Stuart Mill, "On Liberty"

NBC and the United Nations

I just watched the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, and after hearing the corruption story by Lisa Myers about how a Representative of the United States was involved in the U.N. Oil For Food scandal, I wondered aloud if the average NBC-News viewer knew if Robert Torricelli of New Jersey was a Republican or Democrat. Was the omission of this detail intentional? Probably. If it wasn't intentional, it was simply institutional bias. They (the Mainstream Liberal Media) are so focused on lampooning conservatives or Republicans, especially GWB, that they don't even know when they are covering for the Liberals.

Have you ever heard the nightly news progams describe a Congressman as a Republican? Of course. Every time. Every single time! Sometimes even adding "Right wing, conservative, or maverick," as further identifiers. But a dirty Democrat? "No, let's not mention that. It's bad enough that we have to even report the story about one of our own, but we don't want Fox News or the bloggers to scoop us." Even omission of facts is one more example in the long evidence list of bias.

And what about our buddies at the U.N.? They tell us that we should shut down Guantanamo prison (where of course, we house all those crazy Muslim jaywalkers) and release all of the prisoners. Of course the U.N. also demands that we don't release them into countries where they will be tortured. Here's an idea, lets let them pack their own parachutes made out of their towel hats, put them on a military transport plane and let them drop in on their good buddies somewhere over downtown Paris and Berlin.

Iran Madman Warning

Part 2 of the Axis of Evil...
Iran prepares for war with US.

A speech by Ahmadinejad early this month went on and on with "Death to Israel. Death to America" "Death to ALL the infidels!" ...allah, yada, yada...
Does this REALLY sound like someone who is only seeking civilian power from his nuclear enrichment program? China and Russia will not be of any help in this one either, both have strong economic reasons to sell out the rest of the world.
That could mean Germany will be a whole lot more likely to support the U.S. and Israel with sanctions or more.

Chavez to sell U.S. planes to Iran? General Alberto Muller, a Venezuela chief of staff, advised the sale of 21 F-16s, "There is a feasibility of negotiating with Iran for the sale of the planes."
Sure... Like our Navy will allow that shipment to even get into deep water.... I don't think those planes will likely leave Venezuelan airspace anytime soon, and this is simply Chavez throwing a fit about the U.S. imposed arms ban to his regime. He had previously threatened to sell the aircraft to Cuba. Now he's in Libya calling for the world to unite againt America.

Chicago Dems Corrupt Illinois

Will Illinois citizens ever have an honest, truly representative political system?

I think the chances of that happening are about equal to that of Rep. Bill Mitchell topping Barry Bonds homerun totals. Sorry, Bill, nothing personal. I just needed a reference to help make it clear.
As long as Chicago politicians and/or the Daley machine screws taxpayers, and as long as we have Governor Blago who answers more to Daley and the Cook County/Rock Island architects of corruption, it cannot happen.

Theodore Roosevelt and the Muslim Rave Party

Ted, On assimilation:
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Ok, I admit that the Muslim Rave Party video clip has nothing to do with Mr. Roosevelt, but I think you'll get a kick out of it anyway. Funny stuff. Thanks to Wild Thing for the clip and the quote.

Jesse finds a camera and crowd

In his infinite search for TV cameras and attention, Jesse (Shakedown) Jackson tries to be associated with something he thinks might even be much bigger than himself, which may explain his pathetic pandering to the illegal immigrant movement at the expense of his (perceived and deceived) core group of black supporters.

According to a recent poll conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center and quoted by the NYT, in its story, Growing Unease for Some Blacks on Immigration, "...nearly twice as many blacks as whites said that they or a family member had lost a job, or not gotten a job, because an employer hired an immigrant worker. Blacks were also more likely than whites to feel that immigrants take jobs away from American citizens."

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights

I've heard a lot of complaints in the press by illegal immigrants about exercising their "rights."

Bull****. The constitution imparts rights to CITIZENS. Not foreign invaders.

Bill of Rights
"During the debates on the adoption of the Constitution, its opponents repeatedly charged that the Constitution as drafted would open the way to tyranny by the central government. Fresh in their minds was the memory of the British violation of civil rights before and during the Revolution. They demanded a "bill of rights" that would spell out the immunities of individual citizens."
