Patriot Act extension - 1 month

The House passed a one-month extension of the Patriot Act on Thursday and sent it to the Senate for final action as responsible members of Congress worked to prevent expiration of anti-terror law enforcement provisions on Dec. 31.

The House rejected the 6 month extension passed last night by the Senate, probably because of the obvious timing to avoid responsibility during the upcoming election.

If the Dems think the Patriot Act is so horrible, why would they accept 6 months more of the same thing they originally supported? Dems play both sides, and both sides against the other to block and impede the working of this government.

Senate meets tonight, and the one month extension will likely pass. They'll have to go back at it in January and be on record for any vote they make before the elections.

I guess the terrorists will be watching and anxiously waiting to see what our liberal colleagues will do. I guess in early February we can expect more "chatter" on the airwaves...
