Newt is clearing the road for conservatism to prevail

In a recent interview with James Dobson, of Focus on the Family, Newt spoke about his infidelity during his first marriage. In my opinion, this is a fairly clear sign that Newt IS going to run for the presidency. By getting in front of this now and taking ownership of the issue early, he disarms this as a potential issue for his opponents when he does officially enter. If they do bring it up later, he has already done the damage control and will reverse the tactic, and subject the other candidate to the silliness of discussing old gossip instead of solutions to problems that we can solve.

He didn't really have any obvious reasons for discussing this old news other than his methodical clearing of the road to the White House.

Using Robert Scheer as a reference to conservatism is the same as using VPCheney's posts as a reference to liberals.
Both are partisan. Both have opinions.

He's no Ron Paul, nor even Fred Thompson, but Darth Vader is still ten times the conservative that McCain or Giuliani are.

Hello Tam,
Ron Paul is true to his Libertarian core, and principled enough to be consistant. That's a hard thing for a national candidate to win with. If Paul could get any national traction, I could easily consider supporting him. Realistically, I don't think the mainstream is ready for anyone who is so uncompromising in his Libertarian stances. I would like to see a lot more senators and representatives like him, (especially here in the liberal island of Illinois) but I'm not sure about him being acceptable enough to the masses to gain the presidency.

Has Thompson announced yet?
Some conservative needs to spring into action to win against the libs, and be a conservative leader, not just a conservative in name only.

Thanks for stopping by.
