Donald Rumsfeld

President Bush announced his continuing full support of Defense Secretary Rumsfeld today, despite the "drive by media" ganging up to manipulate retired generals into asking for the removal of the Defense Secretary. Doesn't the liberal media realize that this President won't make decisions based on what the press thinks?

The NY Times article today had a 37 paragraph story about the "renegade" generals.
Not until the 34th paragraph was it mentioned that the charges by some of the generals were possibly just sour grapes. I guess to be on the positive side, we should give the NYT some credit for not chopping this off the end of the article altogether.

Retired Generals Call for Rumsfeld's Resignation

The criticism of Mr. Rumsfeld may spring from multiple motives. General Zinni, for example, is in the middle of a tour promoting a new book critical of the Bush administration.

General Riggs, who called for Mr. Rumsfeld's resignation in an interview on Thursday with National Public Radio, left the Pentagon in 2004 after clashing with civilian leaders and then being investigated for potential misuse of contractor personnel.
