Olberman
Hegemonic Discourse has more on "Liberal journalism (at it's worst)"
As much as Olberman seems to hate anything conservative, I think he is more obsessed with O'Reilly beating him with a big stick in the ratings race than with GWB. He hates GWB plenty, but ask him about O'Reilly and he'll quickly show you what real envy and animosity looks like. The veins will start popping out of his forehead, and the sour grapes will pop out of his mouth.
Olberman and O'Reilly are more alike than either of them would care to admit. Topical pundits, neither is a truly competent journalist, and both are so enamoured with themselves that the accurate presentation of news always comes in a distant second to their own self promotion. O'Reilly is just a lot more experienced and adept at self promotion than Olberman.

Attack Attack Attack! What, our administration is an immense failure that has ruined everything its touched? Yarrghhh It's Olberman's Fault, he wants America to fail! Ahh to be a simple-minded Conservative pundit these days.
I didn't say anything was Olberman's fault, except for maybe his own poor ratings. He probably does get a 20 or 25 person increase nationally if he harps on O'Reilly, so going out on the left edge even further to pose as a really smart guy would be a natural for him.
I'd rather be a simple-minded conservative pundit than an appeasing, blame-America-first, side-with-the-terrorist liberal that some are these days.
What was it they used to say? If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
The DNC has fallen...to MoveOn.org
PFC,
Isn't Olberman doing the attacking here? Isn't it the left who has the one dimensional strategy of demonizing Bush? Incredible.
Keep up the good work vpcheney!
I like to think of it as a one dimensional strategy of not letting our country be ruined, sadly i think we're failing.
PFC,
If you're failing so badly, just cut and run from it. That seems to be the normal mood of the day on the left. In this case, since your assumption of American "failure" is incorrect, or misguided, to say the least, it would be the proper procedure.
I think it was summed up nicely in Office Space...."Why should I change my name, he's the one that sucks."
