An iPod for every kid?

"...We have come to the conclusion that the crisis Michigan faces is not a shortage of revenue, but an excess of idiocy. Facing a budget deficit that has passed the $1 billion mark, House Democrats Thursday offered a spending plan that would buy a MP3 player or iPod for every school child in Michigan."
It seems that Gov. Blagojevich and the Illinois Dems have spread the disease of "fair tax and spend lunacy" to our neighbor to the north.

Why stop with an mp3 player?
How about:
* Free top-of-the-line Healthcare
* Free top-of-the-line Education
* Minimum Wage of $25.00/hr
* 87 different government programs to provide for every single aspect of one's life from birth to death, with the individual not required to work for or earn any of them, except that they vote for democrats.
I forgot about the get-out-of-jail-free card, daily tax-payer-provided flights to and from Chicago, and tax-payer funded pork projects.
Of course you realize Illinois and Michigan don’t share a border…So they’re not actually “our neighbor to the north”
