Culture of Treason

Rush Limbaugh, on the difference between a whistleblower and a leaker:
"...a whistleblower is somebody who leaks stuff that damages the Bush administration. A leaker is somebody who tells the truth about Bill Clinton."

Gas prices, Condoleezza, and Dem's secret plans revealed

How Gas Prices Work

Taxes, including federal and local,
account for about 20 percent of
the total price of gas in the U.S.

Unless the government is willing to
include itself, how can Senators even
think about a windfall profits tax on oil companies?

Other stuff...
Anger, apology over "Condoleezza" quiz
Bellevue Community College President Jean Floten apologized Wednesday at an emotional open-campus meeting called after students complained about what they said was a racially offensive math question used on a practice test.

Legal Immigration Historical Contrast

Seems to be quite a contrast in the early 1900's immigration and the present in attitudes and implementation of controls and assimilation.

Take a look at this Ellis Island medical examination.
Keeping disease out of the country was as important then as now. Obviously not a pleasant experience, but the trials and tribulations of immigration were worth the price of admission to America. Add terrorisim to the mix and our reasons and need for legal processing are clear.

I think we've lowered the price of admission far too much in the last half century, and yet illegal immigrants are still sneaking in, unwilling to go through the process of being lawfully admitted, and hurting the image and understanding of immigrants in general. Our lax policies, including several amnesties since '65 have probably caused the general change in the motivation of illegals. Why wait in line if you can likely cut in front of the line with little or NO penalty, but actually gaining a fast track to citizenship with the generally anticipated Next amnesty plan.

Illinois Democrats May Splinter

Mixed messages seem to abound on the left...

I think someone missed a memo...
Mayor Daley warned that Reverend Meeks could endanger the entire Democratic ticket in November and the Reverend Jesse "aka/Shakedown" Jackson called Meeks posturing to run "a brilliant move."

Priorities, Politics And The Pastor
Ron Walters, NNPA Columnist
...Two issues in Illinois reflect Black voters' resentment toward a Democratic governor and Democratically-controlled House and Senate...
...But by not meeting their base constituent's economic needs, and by making choice and gay rights a virtual litmus test for Democratic candidates, the party has allowed these conservative social issues to entice some African-Americans to vote Republican or to be cooler toward Democrats...

Donald Rumsfeld

President Bush announced his continuing full support of Defense Secretary Rumsfeld today, despite the "drive by media" ganging up to manipulate retired generals into asking for the removal of the Defense Secretary. Doesn't the liberal media realize that this President won't make decisions based on what the press thinks?

The NY Times article today had a 37 paragraph story about the "renegade" generals.
Not until the 34th paragraph was it mentioned that the charges by some of the generals were possibly just sour grapes. I guess to be on the positive side, we should give the NYT some credit for not chopping this off the end of the article altogether.

Retired Generals Call for Rumsfeld's Resignation

The criticism of Mr. Rumsfeld may spring from multiple motives. General Zinni, for example, is in the middle of a tour promoting a new book critical of the Bush administration.

General Riggs, who called for Mr. Rumsfeld's resignation in an interview on Thursday with National Public Radio, left the Pentagon in 2004 after clashing with civilian leaders and then being investigated for potential misuse of contractor personnel.

City Council Mother-In-Chief

Did anyone hear the outragious interview this morning on Byers and Company?

Mother Betsy basically accused Byers of being a racist, apologized to him several times, and then denied ever implying it. She accused him of "not being inclusive" to minorities and the poor in his work with the Arts Fair. Why? Because he wanted to remove the criminal element that had caused trouble in the past at the SummerStart events.

Wasn't SHE stereotyping minorities and the poor as a criminal element of society who are uneducated, with no interest in the arts?

I always thought that she had Decatur's greater good at heart, but now I wonder if she has succumbed to the temptation of playing politics with the race card. I'm seriously dissapointed in her, and can legitimately say that, since she received a vote from me in the last election.

She also backed clear away from the non smoking drive she had been recently promoting. She says that it isn't on her priority list anymore. Brian countered that her list of three major priorities includes the smoking ban as number 3. She implied that another council member will maybe make it a priority, and then she would support their effort. She declined to answer when asked which council member/s that she had spoken about.
Did Councilwoman Betsy Stockard implode this morning? What do you think about it?

I really wish that this morning's broadcast was available online as a podcast or transcript.
Byers and Company is heard on WSOY-1340AM (6-9am weekdays)

Undocumented Suicide Insurgent (Liberal blur)

Calling ILLEGAL immigrants "undocumented" is a big part of the left wing blurring of the facts. Tell it like it is, without beating around the bush and trying to be politically correct. They have broken our laws to enter this country. They are ILLEGALLY in the country. Calling them "undocumented" is as deceptive as calling murdering terrorists "insurgents." Another example of this is calling people that blow themselves up in public places, "suicide bombers." They are not. They are "HOMICIDE BOMBERS." Calling them "suicide" bombers is a distortion that implies that the murderers are simply offing themselves.

Congress does the funding, not GWB. Do Senators Durbin and Obama support enforcing illegal immigration laws that are already on the books? Do they support increased funding to stop the flow of Illegals at the borders? I don't think they do. Why would ILLEGAL immigrants care about following our laws when we don't enforce them anyway?

The Illegal-Alien Crime Wave

Stop hiring them and they will not come... Enforce the laws on the books, and they will not stay.
This wave of ILLEGAL immigration is nothing short of an invasion by a foreign power that is tacitly encouraged by lax laws, sleazy employers, and cowardly politicians who support amnesty.
Immigration is not the problem of the day... It is ILLEGAL immigration that is the problem.

The following article is interesting and points out some of the crime problems that are caused by ILLEGAL immigrants.

from a January 2004 FrontPageMag article by Heather MacDonald
The Illegal-Alien Crime Wave

...The only way to dampen illegal immigration and its attendant train of criminals and terrorists—short of an economic revolution in the sending countries or an impregnably militarized border—is to remove the jobs magnet. As long as migrants know they can easily get work, they will find ways to evade border controls.

...Hispanic advocates have helped blur the distinction between a legal and an illegal resident by asserting that differentiating the two is an act of irrational bigotry.

...Of the incalculable changes in American politics, demographics, and culture that the continuing surge of migrants is causing, one of the most profound is the breakdown of the distinction between legal and illegal entry.
